Both of the previous reviewers are wrong.
There is certainly more than 16 mg of resveratrol in these capsules. Grape seed extract and grape skin extract contain resveratrol. The amount would depend on the type of extract. However, I am inclined to believe that the capsules do contain 200 mg of resveratrol since the 100 mg size capsules were assayed by (the independent) Consumer Labs, as part of a survey of resveratrol supplements, and passed their tests. Additionally they did not contain lead or cadmium, common contaminants and also passed the dissolving test (i.e. not go straight through you like a lot of supplements do).
There are two resveratrols; cis and trans.
Consumer Lab also did cost per 100 mg of resveratrol, and this brand was very competative.

They claim 200 mg, but its actually only 16 mg. I don’t know how they get away with such a blatantly misleading headline. I wouldn’t trust the rest of the ingredients or purity given Jarrow’s willingness to try to trick customers.
Competitors’ products have honest labeling and as a result, are much more cost effective.
I’m surprised Amazon allows Jarrow to continue to sell on their site.

Other reviewer said it, misleading labeling. the label says, exactly:
Resveratrols (from 200mg Polygonum cuspidatum, 8% total resveratrols) 16mg
Grape seed extract (Vitis vinifera) (95% polyphenols) 50mg
Grape skin extract (Ancellota lambrusco) (95% polyphenols) 100mg
Green tea extract (Camellia sinensis) (45% polyphenols) 200mg
First, there is no such thing as “resveratrols” plural, just one compound, resveratrol, and second this contains 16mg of it NOT 200mg.
That said: I did buy Jarrow’s other resveratrol product (Resveratrol 100) and opened a capsule, as far as I can tell the contents taste and smell about the same as any other P. cuspidatum extract, so I have no problem with it. Also I’ve read the ConsumerLabs report, they did HPLC testing and say it contains pretty much exactly what it says on the label, 100mg resveratrol.
I don’t think Jarrow is a bad brand, but I do think they should pull the “Synergy” product, or reformulate it to contain a decent amount of real resveratrol along with the other stuff. There is nothing wrong with taking a mix of plant polyphenols if you like, but that’s not why most people would be looking at this; they would be looking at it because of the big “Resveratrol” label. As far as just resveratrol goes, to get the dosage what some people are aiming for, 5mg/kg/day or so, you would have to take about 20 of these pills, which is definitely not recommended.

I have been taking two doses daily of Resveratrol for over three years.
I can not make any claims that this extract of grapes will give you any life extension.
But, after reading much literature on the french paradox, for the cost of 20 cents per day I think that taking resveratrol could be a worthy investment if future studies prove that Antioxidant Supplements are modulators of increased lifespans.
This Jarrow product SYNERGY in my opinion appears to be the strongest dose of Resveratrol available.
I have taken other manufacturers including paradise herbs and Source Natural.
Read the recent Harvard study and the NYTs article on Aging Drugs looks like Resveratrol is very good for me.
Of course, before taking any health supplements, I strongly suggest you inform your health care advisor.
Hope my review on Jarrow Resveratrol is helpful.

Product is a bit mis-leading as it indicates 200mg/capsule which would be a good high concentration of resveratrol (3,4,5-trihydroxystilbene) but it is actually only 16mg/capsule(8% of 200). It is indicated on the bottle but not in the advertising. Price is not bad if you don’t mind swollowing a lot of capsules. The rat study was at 40mg/kg daily.
